Michael Arthur's Harvest for Hope Initiative

This year, Michael pledged 5% of all farm proceeds to local food banks and rural school programs across Taiwan. Over 2,000 kg of fresh produce β€” berries, mangoes, and wheat flour β€” have been donated to families in need since January.

Heartland Farm also sponsors three rural schoolchildren's lunch programs in the surrounding area, providing fresh produce weekly year-round.

"The land has given us everything. It's only right we give back."

The Farmer
Michael Arthur
Michael Arthur β€” Farmer
"I didn't inherit this land β€” I chose it. And every morning it reminds me why."
β€” Michael Arthur

Twenty-eight years ago, Michael Arthur made the decision that would define the rest of his life. He purchased a modest piece of farmland in Taiwan with little more than hard work, a clear vision, and a deep respect for the soil beneath his feet. What started as a small operation has grown into one of Taiwan's most admired family farms.

Today, Heartland Farm grows four core crops β€” berries, mangoes, wheat, and cotton β€” across 180 acres of fertile Taiwanese land. Michael manages everything personally: from planting and harvesting to tractor repair and direct sales. He believes in knowing every corner of his land and every one of his workers by name.

Beyond the fields, Michael is deeply committed to giving back. His Harvest for Hope initiative donates a portion of every season's yield to food banks and rural schools across Taiwan β€” a cause he describes as "the most important crop we grow."
